Most of their previous boxed games gave you a "deal" per say; not this one.

While I appreciate a folding stock was added, the rest of the design is not great, sort of one step forward two steps back. I think you are right that the new models are not really better than the old ones, and certainly not taking into account that we are not back in 1995. I would have loved to see the Escher design toned down a little, while still maintaining some of the flair. But more than anything I was just hoping for some nice heads to use in our own conversions, but we didn't even get that. Quite a shame... I have to admit I thought it was a bit rich to be asked shell out $150AUD for the boxed game plus immediately another $50AUD for the rest of the rules. I don't think we'll bother... we don't have enough regular players for a campaign, don't have enough terrain, the miniatures aren't inspiring enough to bother, and we've just shelled out a lot of cash to get going with 8th edition 40K...

I agree with most of your comments about the Orlocks, though I was surprised: I thought for sure GW would win you over with the folding stock but it wasn't to be!

I think overall the main issue with the new Necromunda models is that they're just not as good as the originals. Not even close. And, I'm a bit surpised to hear that the Eschers are so small (or at least their heads), that seems a very poor choice... though personally if I pick up any of the Escher models I will replace the heads with ones from Statuesque minis anyway.

Sorry to keep blathering on, but I agree it is a massive shame that none of the other gangs will get female members, though you didn't mention the female Hive Scum from Forgeworld. I thought it was odd right from the start that if they were updating the Eschers they would still go with the bikinis and high heels. I mean, I have massive nostalgia for that stuff but if you're updating the models anyway... I mean come on - It's 2017 now, 20 years later, we can do better for our sisters!(Kym) + Warburton + (Classic40K) https://www.blogger.com/profile/17333928965917754588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3901426566557963132.post-16370685488947670222017-11-29T11:57:47.200-08:002017-11-29T11:57:47.200-08:00Thanks again for being a part of it; it is always ...Thanks again for being a part of it; it is always fun to talk!
