Dragged into Turbolasers Episode 12: The Burning of Prospero is upon us, with Blood Bowl soon to follow!

We spend this episode discussing the upcoming Burning of Prospero box game.  We speculate on how it will differ from the earlier Betrayal at Calth Horus Heresy game, as well as comment on the quality of the new models.  In the second half of the episode we switch to talking about the rerelease of Blood Bowl, and decide whether or not we want to start playing it again.  Finally, we talk about our current hobby projects, where Greg and Eric reveal that they are starting to paint models for the first time in many years!

Curse of the Alabaster: Dreadwhisper

Dreadwhisper hungers for human FLESH!

Broad Spectra Signum-station Omicron Nu 647 orbited the dead planet of Angstrom I, named after the Angstrom planetary system that is perilously close to the cosmic blight known as the Maelstrom. Erected by the Mechanicum from the forge world located in the system, the viewing station monitored Warp and astropathic anomalies in that volatile region of space.  Its proximity to the Warp rift, coupled with the Warp storm’s relative stability (when compared to other Warp Rifts such as the Eye of Terror), made it an ideal platform for the Mechanicum to study Warp-related phenomenon such as the effects of warp exposure on organic matter.  While active scientific research is often forbidden in the dogmatic and superstitious Imperium, the Mechanicum was given sanction to conduct its experiments when the Ordo Chronos recognized its benefit to their studies into Warp travel and the passage of time.

Guest Article: Beneath Terra - Act X

Last month we wrote about a project that the Observer, over at the Bolter and Chainsword forum, has been working on that involves our Church of the Red Athenæum. His Inquismunda project Beneath Terra is doing a fantastic job of exploring the background behind one of the lost Space Marine Legions. If you have not read our first post about his project, go and read it promptly and more on the Bolter and Chainsword. Here we wanted to share his background for Logarach, a gigantic mutant who has ties with the Church of the Red Athenæum.

Curse of the Alabaster: First Arbite painted

The Emperor's work is never done.
While it has been a long time in coming, I am happy to say that the first of my converted Arbites is painted! I started trying to paint three of them at once and when I got to highlighting their jackets I had to stop and paint them one at a time; otherwise I feared that the quality of the painting might suffer.
